All is well here on our sunny and peaceful little island! Our oldest campers went on their Big Trips last week while the younger units had overnights and celebrated Nell Day and lots of other fun program offerings. Here are a few picture from Big Trips that went out – sailing and hunt canoe – as well as a couple from the Big Trip Campfire.
Every summer has a little different flavor than the last – the main ingredients are the same but the special seasoning is added by the unique personalities of the campers and staff who are present. Last week was ‘Floral Friday’ (where everyone wears something with a floral print if they have one – or want to borrow something from the drama shed). This picture is for ‘Star Wars Saturday!’
The Voyageurs were able to go on a canoe overnight…and had a special treat for dessert!
Team building opportunities arise every day within the unit, but the initiative below is extra challenging. All participants have to be touching the tent pole at the same time as they lift it from the ground to a certain height. It’s harder than it looks! We all came back together for a wonderful Visitor’s Weekend, complete with parents, friends, our Board of Directors and plenty of picnic fixins!
We are fortunate to have so many talented, clever and brave campers and staff members who are willing to share their passions and talents with us through Musicale. It’s a wonderful way to get experience performing and speaking in front of a nurturing and supportive audience.
We can hardly believe that there’s only one week left! There are many great things coming up, including Opry House, Potlatch Games, Salmon Bake, Indian Dances and more. Stay tuned for the next update in a few days… we are savoring every remaining moment this last week with these energetic, brilliant and creative campers.
