Enrollment Information ~ 2017 Season
It was annouced in the spring of 2016 that there would be no two-week session for 2017. Since relocating to Johns, the Short Session for 9-10 year-olds has been popular, but our four-week session has been the focus of our program philosophy for the majority of our 80-year history. Through extensive talking, polling of parents, and discussion with our board and alumni, we have decided that moving all of our units to a four-week program starting in 2017 will be in line with not only our vision, but also with our history. We are thrilled about this exciting change and will look forward to spending a full four-weeks with our younger campers.
Four-Week Session, Ages 9-16
|First Session:||June 26 - July 23, 2017|
|Second Session:||July 26 - August 22, 2017|
The full program, with curriculum in most areas being progressive. For example, overnights for younger campers will be on the camp property. As campers advance in age their overnight trips will involve travel away from Johns Island to near-by marine parks or other San Juan Island properties. Only campers 13 years of age and older (7th - 10th grade) will participate in the extended trips of 4 to 5 days. We strive for a graduated program in all activities to allow for a varied experience for campers throughout each session and across multiple seasons.
Our mission is to bring a diverse group of young people together to experience a challenging program and be part of a strong community. In support of that mission, we offer a Tiered Tuition Schedule for Regular Session. This fee structure will help maintain the quality of our program, broaden our community, and let you choose the level of participation that best fits with your family situation. Please also see our Financial Assistance Program page and information.
TIER ONE: This amount covers the majority of the camper’s experience, with the Board of Directors supporting the organization by doing additional fundraising.
TIER TWO: This amount fully covers the cost of the camper’s experience.
TIER THREE: This amount is for families who would like to show support to the organization’s future by providing additional funding to be put toward enriching the camp experience.
