|Session||Grade Levels (approx.)||Dates|
|First Session||3rd – 10th||June 26 – July 23|
|Second Session||3rd – 10th||July 26 – August 22|
Four weeks (ages 9 – 16)
Our four-week session is the cornerstone of our program. All campers will have access to all programs, with the curriculum being progressive, referred to as a “graduated program.” For example, overnights for younger campers will be on the camp property. As campers advance in age their overnight trips will involve travel away from Johns Island, to near-by marine parks or other San Juan Island properties. Only campers 13 years of age and older (7th – 10th grade) will participate in the extended trips of 4-5 days. Other in camp activities are age-restricted as well, to reflect age-appropriate challenges and to allow for a varied camper experience over several years at Nor’wester.
It is our mission to bring a diverse group of young people together to experience a challenging program and be part of a strong community. In support of that effort, we offer a Tiered Tuition Schedule for our summer sessions. This fee structure will help maintain the quality of our program, broaden our community, and let you choose the level of participation that best fits with your family situation. Tier 3 covers the full cost of having a child at camp; Tiers 1 and 2 are offset by annual fundraising.
|Session||Tier 1||Tier 2||Tier 3|
|Regular Session (completing grades 3-10, ages 9-16)||$4,025||$4,475||$4,775|
The tuition above includes laundry costs, transportation to and from camp and the Seattle area, and a deposit for the camper’s Trader Horn (Camp Store) account. The camp store deposit is $75, and any remaining balance at the end of the camp session will be reconciled and invoiced with the family’s final bill.
