Hello Nor’wester Friends and Families!
We are swiftly heading towards the end of second session. The Big Trips returned on Friday! The campers in our four oldest units were hiking, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, and climbing mountains last week! The photo above is of the Hunt Canoe trip, one of our six Big Trip options. The four oldest units: Islanders, Wayfarers, Mountaineers, and Troubadours have the opportunity to go on a 5 day trip during their session. We hope to share some of the photos from these wonderful trips soon.
We hosted a lot of friends and family members over this weekend for Visitor’s Day! We had well over 100 visitors on island on both Saturday and Sunday. Lots of boats were coming and going all weekend long. Over the last two days, we had two charter boat trips from Anacortes, three barge runs from Roche Harbor, and many personal boats. The theme of this weekend (and honestly every day) was Boats! Boats! Boats! It was great to see so many families picnicking all over camp over the last two days. Huge Shout Out to all of the families who packed their picnic trash out with them when they left! We appreciate it!
We know it is a long trip for many of our visitors to get up to Johns for an afternoon of island time! Thank you so much for coming to visit us. We can’t wait to see you back at camp next year!
Our days are at camp winding down, but we have a lot to do before our 2nd Session Campers leave us! The Foresters and Voyageurs are leaving tomorrow morning for their Little Big Trips! There’s always something going on at Camp Nor’wester!
