Greetings from Johns Island –
Camp has officially begun!!! All of our campers arrived safely without a hitch – bringing smiles, excitement and lots of luggage. 🙂 After gathering as units in Anacortes, they set sail on one of four charter boats for a scenic ride over to Johns Island.
Our fantastic cook, Nick, and his kitchen team prepared a wonderful meal of pasta, sauce, rolls, salad and hot vegetables, with rice krispie treats for dessert. This was followed by enthusiastic singing then an evening in their respective units to get to know each other and go over guidelines, rules and basic needs.
And now the moon is out, camp is quiet, and tomorrow will bring a new day of adventure for all of us. Jill, the Assistant Director, and I will be keeping you posted at various points as we move through the session.
Thank you for sharing your children with us – we are honored to have this opportunity to provide them with a unique, fun and enriching outdoor living experience.
