What to Expect

Campers give thumbs up over a wooden table covered in food and gear on a beach

We’ll be updating our summer blog 2-3 times a week once the summer season kicks off. Expect to see a photo or two of camp life, read about session highlights, and join us in spirit as we celebrate another wonderful, surprising, challenging, and life-shaping summer at camp. You can subscribe to the summer blog to get email updates every time a new post is published. We will send out the link for subscriptions once the blog posts begin in June.

We will also post frequent photos and updates on our Facebook and Instagram pages during the summer. Typically, these short posts will highlight an event or an activity at camp that will be discussed more fully in a corresponding blog post. Please be advised that our highest priority is spending time in the present moment with our campers, so most of the photos and posts you read will recap events that have already taken place. We will not be posting every day, and those posts that we do make will be intentionally brief.

Our Philosophy

The reason we do not post daily stems from our philosophy that first and foremost, overnight site map
camp is for the camper. While we enjoy providing campers’ friends and families with peeks into the world of Nor’wester, our blog and social media feeds are meant to offer only a short and sweet snapshot of what you can expect to hear about much more fully from your campers when they return home. By upholding our commitment to providing an independent experience for our campers, we intentionally limit these insights because we want to honor each camper’s experience as their own, individual, in-the-moment, developing story. It is their story to tell – and we encourage you to ask them to tell it! During the camp season, we remain committed to giving each camper a special place and time in which to experience, process, and write their own stories.

We look forward to sharing these glimpses into the summer with you – and
extending a bit of the Nor’wester magic to you in the process!
