Our Forester and Voyageur campers have returned from their Little Big Trips, and everyone is back together again at camp for the last few days of First Session!

Our Little Big Trip campers were excited to return to camp after four days of outcamp adventures!

Similar to our Big Trip program, Little Bigs build on the camping, outdoor living, and technical skills foundations that our overnight and activity programs impart to campers via an intentionally graduated curriculum. The four-night structure of Little Bigs leads directly into the five-night schedule of Big Trips. Many campers and staff feel that Little Bigs offer an even greater challenge to participants than Big Trips do, since they represent campers’ first extended outcamp trip, incorporating sailing, hiking, or cycling techniques along with outdoor living, cooking, and camping skills. Participants can expect to be pushed in new ways – and to achieve new heights of accomplishment and discovery.

Campers from the Biking Little Big Trip were all smiles as they disembarked on Johns Island.

We welcomed our Little Big Trippers back to camp on Wednesday afternoon, excited to hear their stories from the past four days. Returning from alpine trails in the North Cascades, winding lanes on Lopez Island, and the waters of the Salish Sea surrounding several outer islands, our backpackers, bikers, and sailors had plenty of news to share. Other campers, coming back to camp from their final overnights of the session, reciprocated with their own stories from the past week.

The Alpine Little Big Trip took a moment to celebrate as they returned to camp.

It’s wonderful to have all of our campers back together again – and that fact means that the closing events of the session are upon us. Olympic Games will span from Thursday to Friday, and Art Night, the salmon bake, Banquet, and the all-camp dance are coming up as well. There’s no doubt that the last few days of First Session will be exciting and memorable!
