Celebrate 90 Years of San Juan Spirit at Camp Nor’wester

In honor of nine decades of community, adventure, and love we have organized two events this year. Anyone within the Camp Nor’wester community is invited to join us. Details about each event are below.

90th Anniversary Party- Seattle

April 26, 2025

4-9pm

Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center

5011 Bernie Whitebear Way

Join us in Seattle for an afternoon and evening of memories, great food, dancing, singing, and more!

RSVP by April 5th.

Tickets are $60 for adults, $40 for kids under 12, and free for children under 3. 

Because we want anyone within the community who is interested in attending to be able to do so, there is also an option to help supplement the cost of attendance for others.

Labor Day Weekend 90th Celebration - Johns Island

August 29-September 1

Spend the weekend at Camp connecting with friends new and old. You’ll have the opportunity to relive your camper days, participate in activities, perform during a campfire or Musicale, and appreciate the nature of the islands. 

Come for the full three nights or stay for two! 

Tickets include transportation, meals, and lodging. If you are interested in attending please carefully review various options for transportation and stay length. 

Attendance options and ticket prices are as follows:

  • 3 Nights - Friday 8/29 to Monday 9/1: $495 for adults and children 7 and older, $325 for children under 7

  • 2 Nights - Friday 8/29 to Sunday 8/31: $450 for adults and children 7 and older, $300 for children under 7

  • 2 Nights - Saturday 8/30 to 9/1: $450 for adults and children 7 and older, $300 for children under 7

All tickets are round trip transportation to and from the same location - either Skyline Marina in Anacortes, WA or Roche Harbor on San Juan Island, WA.

If you are considering private transportation to and from Johns Island, please contact info@norwester.org

90th Anniversary FAQs

  • Yes! These are family-friendly events. However, please note that the Labor Day Weekend event on Johns Island is not designed with children in mind. If you want to introduce your kids to the Camp Nor’wester experience, we highly recommend you check out Family Camp.

  • We want everyone who wishes to attend these events to be able to do so. We are offering the opportunity to help at each event for a reduced cost. Contact Kelsey@norwester.org to ask about volunteer opportunities. We are also accepting donations from community member to help supplement the cost of attendance.

  • Closer to each event, we will offer to opportunity to sign up for volunteer slots. Contact Kelsey@norwester.org if you would like to be added to the volunteer list.

  • Yes, the parking lot is not particularly large. If you arrive later in the evening you may need to park along the road leading to the venue. We will have a van available to shuttle folks who might park further away.

  • If you are planning to attend the Labor Day Weekend event, the cost of round-trip transportation is included in your ticket price. You can choose between a boat from Skyline Marina in Anacortes, WA or a barge from Roche Harbor.

  • Yes, if you would like to arrange your own transportation to and from Johns Island, you are welcome to do so. Please contact Kathleen@norwester.org before buying your tickets. The cost of attendance does not change if you are arranging your own transportation and we cannot allow private boats to tie up to our docks or buoys.

  • Guests will be staying in tents or tipis. Please come prepared for a weekend of Pacific Northwest weather in our beautiful, rustic setting!

    We suggest packing the following:

    • Sleeping bag

    • Raincoat & Rainpants

    • Clothing - including layers

    • Personal toiletries

    • Sturdy shoes for walking around the property (at least one pair of closed-toed shoes for Archery and Challenge Course activities)

    • Swimwear for Waterfront activities

    • Sunglasses, Sunscreen, Sunhat

    • Warm hat

    • Headlamp or flashlight

    • Optional: Linens and pillow for twin beds

    • Optional: Camera, Journal, Reading materials

    • Optional: Special food items for dietary reasons (please do not keep food in your tipis – space in the kitchen will be provided if necessary)
