    New Staff Application

    Returning Staff Application

  • Applicants being considered for a position will be contacted to schedule a video call interview. We will go over general information about working at Nor’wester, positions available, and talk about your best fit at camp. These interviews usually last 45 minutes to an hour.

The interview is a two-way process: it’s just as much a time for you to ask questions as it is for us to ask you questions!

First Round Interview: What to Expect

  • In the email with an invitation to the first round interview, we will include information about providing contract information for three reference.

At least two of these reference should be professional reference who can comment on your work ethic, teamwork, leadership, and suitability/experience working with kids. These are preferably previous supervisors or managers from jobs but could also by professors, advisors, etc. if needed.

  • If we’d like to move forward after the first interivew, another member of our team will reach out to schedule a second interview. This interview is a chance to go over some more specific staff policies and expectations, and help narrow in on a specific position that’s a best fit, and again answer any questions you may have.

  • After the second interview, we will reach out via email with a final hiring decision!

We will send an Offer Letter that outlines the position being offered, the contract dates, and pay. These offers are all conditional pending the results of a comprehensive criminal background check. For positions that include driving camp vehicles, we will also require a Motor Vehicles Records request.

If you are applying for a partial summer contract, we may extend a general offer and then wait until later in the hiring season to finalize the specific job placement.

  • “My experience at camp helped me to develop into who I am today and taught me the meaning of independence along with teamwork. After being away from home…I learned that I could thrive independently and I formed incredible relationships and bonds with people from all walks of life. I love the idea that I could be a part of a kid’s experience of growing up and becoming the person they want to be. Camp is the best place to do that and it would be an honor to become part of a team of amazing people who are passionate about inspiring, listening to and helping kids."
