Joel Kelly
Ever since growing up as Boy Scout in Texas, Joel (he/him) has been inspired to explore and learn new environments. When he first arrived in Washington a trip to Orcas Island quickly showed him the majesty of the San Juans and he never forgot it. After working off-grid maintenance and rural handyman jobs for years, he leapt at the opportunity to apply his passion for small communities and outdoor living to the Camp Nor’wester team as Caretaker in 2022. Joel is excited to be part of the Camp family and hopes to share as much laughter as he can muster.
His pride and joy are his wonderful family: his wife Alloura, and his son Ulric. They moved to Johns Island in April, 2022 from Glacier, WA, where they enjoyed hunting for chanterelles, snowboarding, and fishing.
